“Growing up, the kitchen was my Mother’s domain. She had everything exactly the way she wanted it, and I hated it,” Stephanie laughed. “It was very charming, in its own way, with lots of country touches – hearts and ribbons, all of that. But that’s not at all what I want for my kitchen.”
Stephanie began remodeling her Newton home as soon as she bought it. “The family room was a disaster, and that’s where we started fixing things up. Now that’s completed, and it’s got a cool, modern vibe that’s much more my style. What I’d like to do is extend that look into the kitchen. Out with the old, in with the new!”
When you’re planning your kitchen renovation, it’s very important to know what you want and what you don’t. In Stephanie’s case, she knew that a clean, streamlined look free from extraneous detail was for her. “No cabinet doors for me, and no fussy hardware!” she exclaimed. “Make it sleek, sophisticated, and comfortable to be in.”
