“When our Newton kitchen designer first recommended a pantry, I wasn’t sure about the idea,” Abigail confessed. “I’m not what you call a serious cook. We have a very busy life, with three kids and our own business. But now that we have a pantry, I couldn’t imagine our life without one.”
Having a pantry means you’ve got a place for everything. “What I really appreciate is that the pantry gives me room to stock up in a way that makes sense for our family.” Abigail explained. “When my son’s favorite cereal is on sale, you better believe I bought six boxes. It’s nice to not have to worry about running out.”
“Pantry storage also worked out really well since we decided to go with open shelving in the kitchen,” Abigail said. “It’s a lovely look, but some of the stuff we own – things like the waffle maker and my Instant Pot – just don’t fit the look. The panty’s convenient but also out of sight. I like that.”
The pantry also proved its worth during this past winter’s coldest, stormiest days. “School was closed, and I was working from home, and it was just so nice not to have to worry about going out for anything – the pantry had everything we needed and it was very convenient. Definitely safer than loading up the van with the kids and driving to the store in that weather!”
