If you’re thinking about upgrading your kitchen and you want to be sure it’s worth it, these four tips from local kitchen design experts are for you:
Kitchen design tip #1: Give yourself time to plan.
A kitchen remodel is a serious project. It takes time to think through what you’d like your new kitchen to look like, what features and functions you’d like to have, and what special features would make a new kitchen perfect for your family. Right now, we’re currently booking projects in early 2022, which means you can give yourself six months or more to really focus on planning your new kitchen.
Kitchen design tip #2: Think about current and future needs.
The pandemic really brought home how central good kitchen design is for happy families. While we all hope to never have a repeat of that experience, it is good to think through how your kitchen will function when your kids are five years older than they are right now – or ten, or even twenty!
Kitchen design tip #3: Get help with the complicated parts of planning.
Nationwide, more than 1 in 5 people hire kitchen design services to help them through complicated kitchen renovation projects. A complicated kitchen renovation project is typically defined as one that changes the footprint or workflow of the kitchen, or requires multiple trade professionals (builder, plumber, electrician, etc), or that must absolutely be completed on budget and time.
Kitchen design tip #4: Be open to inspiration.
We recently helped a local homeowner renovate her kitchen. She wanted larger windows because she’s become an avid birdwatcher, and a built in nook where she could sit and watch her feathered friends. Another homeowner redid their kitchen inspired by their love of the sea. There’s no wrong way to be inspired. Bring your ideas to the kitchen design services you’re working with and they’ll help you make it happen.
